The Burton Hotel and Cloud Nine

This hotel really was top notch. The staff were excellent. So friendly, and not corporate friendly, but actually friendly. Clearly the bar was also popular with locals as well as guests. The spa had (much to my wife's dismay) a bar billiards table in it. The pool itself is a decent size for a hotel pool. We didn't have children with us, however there were lots of toys lying around for them and also a Minigolf course on site. The town is clearly set up for walkers with lots of trails of different lengths. You can get a guide from the tourist info, or read from their website. We will return if we can.

Visited for a birthday lunch with a large group - the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had young children with us so they found us a space where the kids could play without disturbing the other guests. They kept checking on us during our meal and there was copious amounts of food. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and making the party such a success.

I had my 70th birthday lunch party at The Burton Hotel, with a large number of people either eating or coming after lunch for a drink and cake. Some guests stayed at the hotel for the weekend. I couldn't fault the occasion. Jana was efficient and organised, and made sure everything went smoothly. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I can certainly recommend for special occasions.

This is a great hotel with lovely, helpful staff and the complimentary use of the spa facilities was amazing after a long day walking Offa's Dyke. Food was also very good. The rooms themselves are little bit dated, but clean and have everything you need.

Lovely staff. friendly great atmosphere. Affordable family carvery at affordable price definitely would recommend and will be coming back !

Pub and spa great with really helpful staff but the standout experience was being able to book an appointment with Gemma the sports therapist. Had travelled up for a golf tournament and put my back out so playing was very much in doubt. 30 minutes with Gemma and I was back ready to go. Her explanations and knowledge were outstanding. Traveling back next month for a longer appointment to fix the rest of me. Just superb.

This hotel and restaurant is very good. Kington on the other hand has little to offer. We arrived a little early but was still given our room, we were shown around by Tegan who seemed to be everywhere all the time, very busy young lady. Our family room had a small double and single bed, a good size bathroom with two sinks and shower over the bath. There was plenty of storage area. The gym and pool are linked to the hotel and you have free use of it while staying there. The restaurant offers extremely good quality food at extremely good value for money. We enjoyed it so much we ate there both evenings, breakfast was all freshly cooked to order and was also very good. With free car parking and access to the Wye valley area you can understand why people stay there again and again. We will go back at some point in the future.
